Holiday Inn Express - Malta, an IHG Hotel

comfortable bed, very helpful and nice staff and good swimming facility in the next building

Our room was at the back, it was quiet, no noise from the street, especially at the weekend. The breakfasts were tasty. Everything was fresh, especially the bread and cookies which were baked on the spot. Great selection of fresh fruit. There were no waiting lines for food, and the tables were cleaned on a regular basis. Breakfast with a beautiful view of the bay. The service people has always been very attentive. During breakfast, we often asked for suggestions on where to go, what to see and how to get there? The service was professional as they were the tour guides. This also applies to reception staff. We stayed nine days in total. We met a lot of people, so it's hard to mention everyone by name, but I want to especially thank Saiviour, Mario, Daniuska, Soni. They always greeted us with a nice sincere smile, making a great atmosphere from the morning compared to the artificial forced smiles that we often encounter. In addition, after sightseeing and sunbathing, we used both indoor and outdoor pools. We had no problems as some suggest in the comments. We had two cards "keys" for the room and another. You just have to know when to use which. You could always find a place to sunbathe, and the view of the bay was beautiful as from the place where we ate breakfast. The pool area was kept clean. There were also no spilled drinks, which often happens in all inclusive resorts. In part, this is also due to the more responsible guests, who sometimes criticize others and are unreasonable themselves. Of course, there will always be people who criticize everything, but they should start with themselves and improve their own behavior.

I knew the area of the hotel from earlier stays, I almost got what I expected... except the construction noise was a bit more disturbing with open doors and windows. However, the location is ideal for a busy holiday schedule. We were able to swim in the sea, despite end of September, which was just a couple of minutes easy walk away. We loved the gym and indoor pool with the sauna, it was open until late hours which was a nice touch and gave the opportunity of a relaxing - refreshing end of the day program. The staff were super nice and made our stay a memorable one.

All the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Helped with getting us a taxi to the airport at a reasonable fare. Breakfast was located at the roof top of the hotel which had an amazing view of the city although there was the ongoing building construction but did not disturb the view. Location of the hotel in St Julian close to shops, restaurants and bus stops which was excellent for ease of commute. Also, liked the balcony view from our room. Access to Inter continental hotel facilities was a big plus!! Night life for the younger generation!

The hotel itself and the rooms are very nice and clean. The staff is excellent. Keep in mind that they don't have minifridge in the room and also they don't have their own swimming pool, they only provide access to the one of the Intercontinental's.
